Description The Privacy Officer will provide oversight and perform privacy operations functions within the assigned affiliate of the company’s privacy and information security program. This role encompasses activities related to the confidentiality, access, use, and disclosure of protected health information and other confidential data. You will ensure adherence to applicable Federal and State regulations while investigating privacy incidents and maintaining proper documentation. Timely reporting to patients and government entities is a crucial aspect of this position. Additionally, you’ll develop and conduct periodic risk assessments, monitor key elements of the privacy program, and implement training programs for the affiliate’s workforce and physicians. Acting as a liaison with the Regional Information Security Officer, you will help coordinate Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) privacy and security requirements.
