We are currently seeking a talented and compassionate Preschool Educator to join our team in Clearwater Beach, FL. As a Preschool Educator, you will play a vital role in shaping the minds and hearts of young children, providing them with a nurturing and educational environment that fosters growth and development. About the Role We are looking for an experienced and qualified Preschool Educator to lead our early childhood education program. As a Teacher I, you will be responsible for planning and implementing educational activities for preschool-aged children or infants/toddlers in our Head Start/Early Head Start Program. You will work closely with our team to create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment that promotes social, emotional, and cognitive development. Key Responsibilities Plan, develop, and implement daily lesson plans that provide for educational and enrichment activities for preschool-age children or infants and toddlers. Create a well-organized and engaging classroom environment that promotes effective learning and play. Screen and assess children to determine developmental/educational needs and develop and implement individual education plans. Monitor and supervise children during meal and snack periods, classroom and restroom activities, and playground activities to ensure a safe environment. Maintain accurate records of children's progress, complete required forms and reports, and communicate with parents through parent conferences, written correspondence, and telephone. Conduct health checks on children for health concerns and report to the Health Coordinator. Ensure lessons and classroom activities align with the Florida Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten Standards and conduct Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten assessments as required. Perform quality staff-child interactions, use active supervision techniques, and maintain positive classroom behavior. Plan, coordinate, and oversee field trips for assigned children. Order supplies and equipment for special needs children in the classroom. Assist in the transportation of special needs children. Requirements and Qualifications Education: Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related degree. Experience: Two years of experience teaching Head Start, Early Head Start, preschool, or kindergarten-age children. Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual skills in English/Spanish or English and other languages present in the local area. Skills and Competencies: Working knowledge of brain development and its impact on early learning. Working knowledge of child development from birth to age five for typical and atypical children. Working knowledge of culture and practices for early childhood. Working knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for early childhood. Working knowledge of behavior modification theories and practices relating to early childhood development. Skill in verbal communication with infants, toddlers, and preschool-age children. Ability to plan, organize, and supervise the work of others. Ability to implement routine care for infants and toddlers in a responsive environment. Ability to assume a seated position on the floor or a bent or kneeled position for extended periods. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
