Power BI Developer- Remote
About the position We’re looking for a Power BI Developer who loves turning data into clear, compelling stories. You’ll partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, design robust semantic models, and craft Microsoft Fabric‑ready visualizations that drive decisions. If you care about effective reporting, continuous learning, and great communication, you’ll feel right at home. Responsibilities • Design user‑centric, narrative visualizations and reports that highlight insight and action. • Facilitate workshops and interviews; translate business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, and artifacts (wireframes, data dictionaries, user guides). • Develop and maintain starschema models, define measures and calculation logic (DAX), apply naming ‑conventions and work with the Power BI Architect to deliver consistent quality. • Our reporting is exclusive to Microsoft Stack. • Present insights to non‑technical audiences, run demos, and partner closely with business leaders and the Power BI Architect. Requirements • PL‑300 (Power BI Data Analyst) Certification—either current or obtained within 6 months of hire. • 2–5 years’ experience building Power BI solutions (DAX, Power Query M, modeling, and publishing). • Proven ability to run discovery, capture business rules, and produce clear artifacts. • Solid grasp of modeling basics: facts/dimensions, star schema, granularity, and relationship design. • Hands-on exposure or genuine interest in Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Lakehouse/Warehouse, Dataflows Gen2). • Excellent written and verbal skills; able to translate complex data into plain language. • Tools: Power BI, Tabular Editor, DAX Studio, Azure DevOps or GitHub. • Accessibility and inclusive design considerations for reports. • Active participation in or following of local/online learning communities, blogs. Nice-to-haves • Portfolio of dashboards (without proprietary data!) that demonstrate strong storytelling and audience‑appropriate design a plus but not required. • Prior experience as a Business Analyst (helpful but not required).
