Plant Design Layout in SolidWorks or AutoCAD
Industry Project is in Wastewater Treatment Processing. Stircor is heavily involved in biosolids drying and gasification sytems Responsibilities -Create parametric 3D SolidWorks models from OEM drawings (PDF, DWG, step files, etc.), including all major components and assemblies as directed. -Configure and place equipment models into a plant layout (SolidWorks or compatible 3D environment), maintaining correct elevations, clearances, and orientation for access, maintenance, and material flow. -Coordinate frequently with the lead design engineer via messages/online meetings to review assumptions, resolve ambiguities, and align on standards (layers, templates, naming, etc.). -Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a structured, segregated file system (e.g., separate job folders, clear revision naming, and dated versions). -Respond to RFIs quickly, with clear, concise questions and screenshots/markups when needed, to minimize design delays. -Update models and layouts as design changes occur, maintaining revision history and ensuring the latest versions are clearly identified. Deliverables -Fully constrained 3D SolidWorks part and assembly files (*.sldprt, .sldasm) built from OEM drawings. -Updated plant layout model(s) with new and existing equipment correctly placed, with any required reference views or snapshots as agreed. -Basic exported formats as needed (e.g., STEP/IGES, PDFs, DXFs of key views) for sharing with vendors or other stakeholders. -Brief change log or revision notes summarizing key modifications per update cycle. Requirements -Strong proficiency in SolidWorks for mechanical/industrial equipment modeling. -Experience working from OEM drawings and integrating equipment in process/plant layouts (material handling, thermal equipment, process skids, etc., is a plus). -Ability to manage files and revisions cleanly across multiple projects. -Excellent written communication and responsiveness within agreed working hours. Schedule Duration: TBD; this is expected to be ongoing project‑based work. Hours: Flexible, with expectation of fast turnaround on RFIs and priority updates when projects are active. Apply tot his job
