About the position The Oregon Health Authority (OHA), Public Health Division (PHD), Center for Health Protection, Facilities Planning and Safety Program in Portland, Oregon has a fantastic career opportunity for a Plans Examiner (Health Facilities Consultant). The Plans Examiner will conduct reviews of schematic design (architectural) plans for health care facilities regulated by the Health Care Regulation and Quality Improvement Section. This is a full-time, management service position, not represented by a union. This recruitment may be used to establish a list of qualified candidates to fill current or future vacancies. Responsibilities • Conduct architectural reviews of submitted projects. • Manage the coordination of engineering and Fire Life Safety plan reviews. • Support project sponsors and architects of record in their efforts to comply with applicable regulations. • Assist licensing agencies to ensure that completed projects comply with applicable regulations. Requirements • Two years of experience in the research, development, design, construction, alteration, or repair of Oregon health and residential care facilities. • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or three more years of pertinent architecture experience. Nice-to-haves • Skills necessary to manage various often unrelated tasks concurrently. • Ability to demonstrate competence in application of rules and codes. • Ability to productively interact with diverse partners and facilitate the development of draft rule language.
