Overview We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Remote Mathematics Tutor to support students in grades 6 through 12. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about education and mathematics, with experience in tutoring or teaching various math disciplines. As a 1099 contractor, you will provide personalized instruction through an online platform, helping students improve their understanding and performance in mathematics. The role offers flexible scheduling and the opportunity to work from home, making it suitable for educators, college students, or professionals with a strong math background. Responsibilities • Deliver engaging and effective tutoring sessions in mathematics topics such as Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, Differential Equations, Statistics, Discrete Math, and Organic Chemistry. • Develop customized lesson plans tailored to each student's learning needs and curriculum requirements. • Utilize learning technology and digital tools to facilitate interactive lessons and assessments. • Track student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their academic growth. • Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles, including special education needs or early childhood education when applicable. • Maintain professionalism and classroom management skills during virtual sessions to foster a positive learning environment. • Collaborate with students and parents (if applicable) to set goals and address challenges in understanding complex concepts such as genetics, microbiology, biochemistry, physiology knowledge, or electrical engineering topics when relevant. Qualifications • Proven experience working with students at the middle school or high school level in mathematics or related STEM fields. • Strong knowledge of math disciplines including Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, Statistics, Discrete Math, and other advanced topics like Organic Chemistry or Mechanical Engineering if applicable. • Familiarity with curriculum development and lesson planning tailored for remote instruction. • Proficiency with learning technology platforms and computer skills necessary for online teaching. • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and effectively. • Experience working with children or adolescents across various educational settings is preferred. • Background in higher education teaching or adult education is a plus. • Ability to manage virtual classrooms effectively while maintaining student engagement and motivation.
