Key Responsibilities: Shaping the Minds of Tomorrow Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines, ensuring a high-quality learning experience for students. Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics, serving as a role model for students and colleagues alike. Stay current with developments in the field of film studies, incorporating relevant knowledge and perspectives into your teaching practices. Fulfill professional responsibilities as a part-time/temporary faculty member, including teaching scheduled classes, maintaining accurate records, and participating in departmental activities. Be prepared to teach classes in a variety of formats, including day, evening, weekend, online, and off-campus sessions. Qualifications: The Ideal Candidate To be considered for this position, you must meet one of the following minimum qualifications: Valid California Community College instructor credential, appropriate to the subject, per Education Code 87355 (issued prior to July 1, 1990). Master's degree from an accredited institution in film, drama/theater arts, or mass communication. Bachelor's degree in film, drama/theater arts, or mass communication AND a Master's degree in media studies, English, or communication. A combination of education and experience equivalent to the above, supported by an Application for Equivalency. In addition to the minimum qualifications, we highly value: Recent community college or lower division teaching experience, demonstrating your ability to effectively engage with students and adapt to the community college environment. Expertise and professional experience in the field of film studies, enabling you to bring real-world insights and applications to the classroom. A sensitivity to, understanding of, and ability to manage the classroom environment and provide instruction to students from diverse backgrounds.
