The Opportunity As a Part-time Associate (Overnight Load Crew) at Smart & Final, you will be responsible for ensuring that our store is fully stocked with fresh products, and that our customers receive exceptional service. Key Responsibilities: Maintain a store section as assigned, including ordering, receiving, and stocking merchandise using proper equipment, ensuring proper pricing, and validating product date codes. Set up advertising and promotional displays, review invoices and bills for accuracy, and clean and maintain sanitation standards in all interior and exterior areas of the store and parking lot. Operate a cash register, receive payment from customers, and make change or process check/charge/debit transactions. Verify customer eligibility when selling alcoholic beverages and offer friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and courteous assistance to customers. Load customer purchases by assisting customers to their vehicles and perform basic bookkeeping duties, including recording lost or damaged goods and store supplies. Essential Qualifications: Ability to read and write English, interact with the general public and co-workers, and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, and pricing codes. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
