Paralegal/ Legal Assistant
Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Paralegal/Legal Assistant to join our vibrant legal team. Duties • Conduct comprehensive legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools to assist attorneys in case preparation and strategy development. • Draft, review, and proofread legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, discovery requests, and correspondence with precision and clarity. • Manage legal case files efficiently using document management systems like Clio and Google Workspace; ensure all records are accurate and up-to-date. • Support litigation processes through document review, case organization, data entry, and trial preparation activities. • Conduct client interviews and gather pertinent information related to family law matters. • Coordinate with clients, witnesses, experts, and court personnel while maintaining professionalism through excellent phone etiquette and organizational skills. • Provide executive administrative support including scheduling appointments, managing calendars, preparing reports, and handling correspondence efficiently. Qualifications • Proven paralegal or legal assistant experience in a law office setting with familiarity in family law. • Strong research skills utilizing Westlaw and LexisNexis to gather relevant case law and legal precedents. • Proficiency with document management systems like Clio and Google Workspace; experience with Westlaw is highly desirable. • Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents as well as proofreading and transcription abilities. • Knowledge of legal case management software and data entry procedures to streamline workflow processes. • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. • Strong organizational skills coupled with professional phone etiquette for effective client communication. • Familiarity with clerical tasks such as filing, document review, data entry, and general administrative support is essential.
