This role will support our in-house legal team with a focus on employment law and compliance. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with experienced attorneys on complex legal matters, including employment agreements, litigation support, acquisition due diligence, and internal investigations. Ideal candidates will bring strong organizational skills, legal research capabilities, and a collaborative mindset to help ensure our policies and practices align with evolving employment regulations and business needs. (This opportunity can be a remote opportunity) In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $100,000.00 to $110,000.00, exclusive of bonuses and benefits. This role is also eligible for our corporate bonus. We select our initial compensation target using national compensation survey data. When we make an offer, we then factor in things like tenure, performance, and geographic location to come up with the most accurate numbers. Primary Job Functions • Support employment counsel and other members of the Wealth Enhancement legal team with employment agreement-related matters, including maintenance of company form templates and drafting employment-related documents such as employment contracts, amendments to employment contracts, and separation agreements. • Assist attorneys in managing legal disputes through support of discovery and other dispute-related processes and oversight of external litigation counsel. • Support acquisition due diligence processes, including acquisition target background investigations and other due diligence investigations requested by counsel. • Conduct research on employment laws to ensure compliance and manage employment law risk. • Assist in the development and implementation of policies related to financial advisor recruiting, onboarding, and transitions. • Assist counsel in monitoring compliance with non-compete, non-solicitation, and other employment-related agreements. • Maintain and organize employment law files, including litigation matters, internal investigations, and compliance audits. • Monitor changes in federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and assist in updating internal policies accordingly. • Support internal investigations related to employee misconduct and workplace disputes. • Coordinate with HR and other departments to ensure consistent application of employment policies and procedures. • Provide assistance with other legal department initiatives as requested or required. Education/Qualifications • Associate's degree (or equivalent experience) • Bachelor’s degree preferred • Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-accredited program • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience • Strong verbal, written, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills • Flexibility in daily work schedule to meet company/client needs during periods of heavy workload • Superior verbal and written communication skills • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software WEG hires employees and makes decisions about their salary qualifications based on factors such as the role to be performed; educational and professional experience, qualifications, skills and credentials; tenure, cost-of-living and demand for the role in the applicable market. To comply with state, pay transparency laws, we must disclose the entire salary grade. The entire salary grade for those who are classified at this level is $81,100.00 to $125,300.00.
