We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated ParaEducator, Special Programs - SEI to join our team in supporting students with specialized needs. About the Role As a ParaEducator, Special Programs - SEI, you will play a vital role in providing individualized support to students in specialized programs. You will work closely with our students, teachers, and therapists to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic, social, and emotional growth. Key Responsibilities Provide academic support to students in specialized programs, including tutoring, adapting work, and monitoring progress Assist students with daily routines, including personal health and hygiene functions, such as using toilets, diapering, feeding, and medical needs Support behavior plan implementation and utilize CPI (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention) techniques and safety monitoring Facilitate and encourage speech and language development through the use of alternate communication systems, such as sign language or voice-activated computer systems Assist instructors with related paperwork and implement specialized therapy programs Work directly with therapists on physical progress and Individualized Education Plans (IEP) Sanitize, disinfect, and clean the learning environment and general work area of all bodily fluids Perform other job-related duties as assigned Requirements and Qualifications Essential Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required Willingness to work with students with significant needs (training opportunities provided) Criminal background check required for hire Ability to successfully complete a pre-hire, post-offer physical examination Preferred Qualifications: CPR and First Aid certifications Universal Precautions training CPI/Safety Care training certification Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work with students with diverse needs and abilities Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Adams 12 Five Star Schools, we are committed to supporting the growth and development of our employees.
