Operations Consultant | Non-Financial Regulatory Reporting
About the position The Operations Consultant for Non-Financial Regulatory Reporting at Raymond James Financial, Inc. is responsible for conducting research and analysis to develop business cases for process improvements that meet regulatory needs and enhance departmental efficiency. This role involves leading projects of varying complexity, managing relationships across departments, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Responsibilities • Serve as a liaison between the team and regulatory agencies, acting as an industry expert on regulations. • Maintain a thorough understanding of new regulations and assess their impact using internal and external resources. • Review regulatory rules affecting the department and create corresponding procedural documents. • Establish objectives and develop processes to ensure efficient workflow. • Consult with users to identify, analyze, refine, and document business requirements. • Prepare and deliver presentations to project stakeholders regarding project updates. • Maintain regular contact with internal customers to identify and resolve issues. • Collaborate with regulatory working groups such as SIFMA. • Identify and report trending information related to regulatory changes to appropriate teams. • Participate in documentation reviews to identify gaps and risks, making recommendations to minimize them. • Create process maps to explain departmental processes and educate associates. • Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and provide recommendations at decision points. • Work on special projects as assigned. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience. • Minimum of six to eight years of relevant experience in financial services. • Experience in project work and business analysis/process improvement within the financial services industry is highly preferred. • SIE certification required unless exempted; Series 99 or equivalent required or ability to obtain within 120 days. Nice-to-haves • Knowledge of banking, finance, and securities industry operations. • Familiarity with investment concepts, practices, and procedures used in the securities industry.
