Key Responsibilities Collaborate with Nursing faculty and subject matter experts to develop and guide instructional design projects, both in the classroom and virtually, ensuring the integration of best practices in online learning. Research changes in the NCLEX nursing licensing examination and work with faculty and the Instructional Design, Engagement and Accessibility Lab (IDEA Lab) to revise online content, student-centered activities, and course examinations accordingly. Apply instructional design principles and quality assessment techniques to create engaging, pedagogically sound learning interactions, leveraging educational theory, assessment techniques, and instructional technologies. Work with the IDEA Lab to ensure digital accessibility initiatives adhere to universally accepted guidelines, providing support and training to faculty and staff, and evaluating emerging educational software for accessibility. Provide leadership and coordination in the implementation and ongoing education of AACC's instructional technology systems, including training, resource creation, and troubleshooting support. Design and teach faculty professional development online courses on best practices in teaching online, instructional design, and digital accessibility. Offer expertise to faculty on evaluating and providing feedback on online courses through Canvas, recommending best practices and instructional strategies. Assist in integrating technology into course curricula and co-curricular learning activities within the Nursing program and the Division of Learning. Represent the Nursing program on College Committees as appropriate and undertake other duties as assigned. Essential Qualifications A graduate degree or a Bachelor's degree with an online instructional certificate. A current RN License. Minimum of one year of teaching experience. Advanced knowledge and skills in instructional design, information technology, and learning management systems. Proficiency in computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and database management software. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work independently and prioritize work duties and responsibilities. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a culturally diverse group of faculty, staff, and students. Preferred Qualifications A Master's or Doctorate in Instructional Design. Teaching experience in a community college nursing program. A Compact License. Two years of experience as an instructional designer or equivalent experience. Experience in medical education, health professions education, or a healthcare setting. Teaching or administrative experience with the Canvas LMS. What We Offer AACC offers a competitive salary of $91,463 per year for this 12-month, full-time staff position. The role is hybrid, requiring some regular in-person presence at the Arnold/Main Campus, with the flexibility to balance work between the office and home.
