We focus heavily on helping tribal citizens across Michigan, while also working with non-tribal clients who need our hands-on legal assistance. Job Description and Duties · Title: Partner · Duties: You will be expected to assist with overseeing Schinkai Law’s (the “Firm”) operations across Michigan, working in state court, federal court, and tribal court. This includes working on marketing, client retention, legal services, trial preparation, other trial activities, and other functions that are critical to the day-to-day operations of running a personal injury law firm. Additionally, your duties will likely evolve based on the firm’s needs and decisions made by the partnership. Compensation and Financials · Standard Compensation: As a Partner, your compensation will be a percentage of the firm’s profits. · Bonuses: Any additional bonuses will be determined by the managing partner/board, based on individual and firm performance. Benefits and Other Provisions · Leave: You will be entitled to 20 personal days per year, in additional to the standard firm holidays, as outlined in firm policy documents. · Malpractice Insurance: The Firm provides professional liability insurance. · Retirement Accounts: Unavailable at this time, but open to discussions in the future. · Medical Benefits: Not offered at this time, but open to discussions in the future. Requirements · You must be a licensed attorney in Good Standing in the State of Michigan. · You must reside in Michigan, but do not need to reside in the Kalamazoo area. · This is a remote-based position. You must have access to a computer, phone, and the tools necessary to work as an attorney from your home office. · You must have strong organizational habits and the ability to be a self-starter. · Excellent written and verbal communication skills. · Litigation and/or Personal Injury Law experience is a plus, but not a requirement.
