Monthly Themes Project Coordinator - Ohio Commission for the U.S. Semiquincentennial

Ohio History Connection is seeking a highly organized and proactive individual for the position of Monthly Themes Project Coordinator with the Ohio Commission for the U.S. Semiquincentennial. This role will be instrumental in spreading awareness about the commission's mission and activities, as well as coordinating various projects and partnerships. Responsibilities Research and identify potential partners aligned with each monthly theme Conduct outreach to agencies, organizations, associations, and key stakeholders via email, phone, meetings, and presentations to secure participation and activities Recruit and manage theme "influencers/ambassadors" who help expand networks and enhance program content Serve as the main point of contact for partner questions, activity proposals, and follow-up communication Create and maintain a comprehensive database of partners, activities, and related content Develop foundational structures for the program, including draft MOUs or similar agreements to guide partner collaboration Coordinate communication and workflow with the Public Awareness Committee and individuals stewarding specific monthly themes Track partner commitments, manage timelines, and ensure all activities and content are aligned with program objectives Research and curate educational content for each theme, including social media materials, blogs, digital assets, Ohio Channel film collections, existing America 250-Ohio programs, books, and relevant external resources Produce content where appropriate to fill gaps and support monthly storytelling needs Compile an "asset map" that identifies available content, experiences, and locations-highlighting areas where additional resources or development are needed Coordinate with the Communications team on the development and promotion of each themed month Collaborate on content for themed web pages, calendars of events, and promotional materials Ensure key partners and influencers have the materials they need to support statewide awareness and participation Skills Associate's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field PLUS three to five years relevant working experience OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field PLUS one to three years relevant working experience Creativity, curiosity, and interest in Ohio history, culture, and tourism Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team Strong problem-solving and adaptability with a positive attitude Excellent relationship-building skills and attention to detail Openness to feedback and commitment to continuous improvement Interest or experience in project coordination, public engagement, marketing, interpretation, nonprofit programming, or related fields Strong organizational, project management, and follow-through skills Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, including comfort engaging new partners Strong writing, editing, and proofing skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel); familiarity with additional tools such as Canva preferred Experience coordinating multi-partner initiatives or statewide collaborations Background in content development, educational programming, or public history Familiarity with CRM tools or databases for tracking partner engagement Comfort working with influencers, ambassadors, or public-facing storytellers Benefits Full Benefits including medical, dental, vision insurance, paid time off and holiday, public retirement pension Company Overview Ohio History Connection is a historical organization that specializes in Ohio history, genealogy, civil war history, museums & archaeology.
