As a Managing Consultant, you’ll guide clients through the environmental permitting and compliance challenges of large-scale capital projects—helping them achieve their goals while protecting natural resources and communities. Your expertise will influence critical decisions in renewable energy, electric transmission, and midstream oil and gas projects across the Midwest. Join our Capital Project Delivery team in Overland Park, Kansas . Responsibilities • Drive successful delivery of multi-media environmental permitting and NEPA processes for high-profile projects. • Lead client engagements, ensuring projects meet scope, budget, and quality expectations. • Build and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, regulators, and clients. • Elevate ERM’s reputation as a trusted advisor in sustainability and environmental compliance. • Lead and manage environmental permitting and compliance for renewable energy, transmission, and oil & gas projects. • Oversee ESA consultations, develop Habitat Conservation Plans, and prepare mitigation strategies. • Deliver NEPA-compliant impact assessments and management plans, ensuring regulatory alignment. • Provide strategic guidance to clients, identifying opportunities to add business value. • Maintain high standards for health & safety, financial performance, and client satisfaction. Requirements • BS/MS in environmental science, natural resources management, ecology, or related field (or equivalent experience). • 4+ years (10 years preferred) of consulting experience in NEPA impact assessment and multi-media permitting (ESA processes, Section 7/10 consultations, HCP development). • Proven ability to manage complex projects and teams in a fast-paced environment. • Exceptional technical writing and communication skills. • Collaborative mindset and commitment to ERM’s sustainability vision.
