Machine Design Solidworks + Solidworks Motion
We are seeking a skilled Machine Design Engineer to reproduce an already existing machine performing motor winding. The goal is to deliver a design which allow to achieve the the performance of the machine on the video, not just playing with Solidworks. Here is what will need to be done : You will perform the following: 1. Requirement Analysis & Concept Design Activities: • Review video to understanding the functioning of the existing machine on video • Attempt to list all the necessary parts making the machine: Mechanical Parts, electro mechanical, servo, motor, bearing, belt, cogs, electrical elements, any other elements needed etc… • Evaluate risks, hotspots, point to be particularly caring of (accuracy, tolerance, safety, CE certification requirement) • Define test plan which will be used to validate the machine (precision, repeatability, cycle time, safety). Deliverables: • Excel list of parts: ◦ To buy off the shelf ◦ To custom design • Safety system documentation requirement + point to care of for implementation • Excel DFMEA • Test plan Budget: 50 USD 2. Mechanical Design and Motion Control with Solidworks Activities: • Define architecture for motion control and select servo/stepper motors + drivers, others. • Define architecture and select sensors (wire tension, limit switches, safety interlocks, others) • Source and select off the shelf parts as much as possible to avoid custom designed parts • Design all the machine: stator clamping system (including automatic loading system), winding head, indexing/rotation system, wire guides, and all/any other parts necessary to achieve the same as in the video. • Run kinematics simulations to validate motion sequences. • Optimize parts for manufacturability (DFM/DFA). Deliverables: • Full 3D CAD assemblies of mechanical system and subsystems: (Solidworks PACK AND GO + STEP files) • 2D manufacturing drawings (SLDDRW + PDF) with tolerances. • BOM with suppliers in Excel format • Motion/kinematics study report + video Budget: 350 USD 5. Prototyping & Assembly Support Activities: • Prepare basket at supplier website to be ready for order • Support the assembly of the prototype (remotely). • Assist in wiring, mechanical alignment, and initial testing if necessary (remotely) • Fine-tune parameters for wire tension, speed, and indexing. Deliverables: • Assembly guide with step-by-step instructions. • Calibration and tuning report. • Debugging log with corrective actions. Budget: 70 USD 6. Testing & Validation Activities: • Support in executing test plan to validate the machine. • Analyse logs to identify improvement margin and gaps • Assist in runing endurance tests ( over1000 winding cycles). • Verify compliance with industrial safety standards. Deliverables: • FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) report. • Endurance test results. • Compliance checklist (CE/UL if required). Budget: 70 USD Qualifications • Degree in Mechanical Engineering. • Proven experience in special-purpose machine design (winding, CNC, robotics, automation). • Skilled in CAD (SolidWorks) • Familiar with DFM/DFA, safety compliance, and industrial standards. • Bonus 1: experience in coil winding machines or textile machinery. • Bonus 2: Located in Europe preferably Working style: Full Remote. Budget not negotiable and not flexible (take it or leave it) We are looking for an autonomous freelancer capable to understand the points in this document and to abid to them: Apply tot his job
