Long-Term Quant Trading Developer (MT4, Pine Script, Chrome Extensions, AI) - Contract to Hire

Remote Full-time
I run a trading education and tools business in the UK (FX, indices, crypto). My next major project is to build a modular strategy-builder and subscription platform where traders can create, test and run their own systems without needing to code. Over time, I also want to incorporate AI/agents to help with testing, optimisation and reporting. I’m looking for a long-term partner-type developer, not just a one-off freelancer. Someone who understands trading, enjoys building algos, and wants a stable ongoing collaboration. What you’ll do You will work directly with me (professional trader) to: Design and build automated trading systems and tools, including: MT4 Expert Advisors and indicators (MQL4) TradingView indicators and strategies (Pine Script v5) Small internal tools for backtesting, analysis and reporting Help architect a modular “build any system” framework, where: Entries, filters, exits, risk management, time filters, etc. are all modular Users can plug different pieces together to create custom strategies Build and maintain simple Chrome extensions / JavaScript tools, for example: Pulling or displaying market data from websites or APIs Integrations that support our trading tools and workflows Run backtests and forward tests, and produce clear performance summaries: Win rate, RR, equity curve, drawdown, parameter variations (Later phase) Help integrate AI/LLM/agents into the workflow to: Automate testing runs Collect and summarise results Suggest parameter/strategy tweaks This is a long-term role. If we’re a good fit, I want you working with me continuously as we build out the platform and a suite of systems for subscribers. Required skills Please only apply if you have most of these: Strong experience with MQL4 / MT4 (building and maintaining EAs and indicators) Strong experience with TradingView Pine Script (indicators + full strategies) Comfortable with JavaScript/TypeScript and Chrome Extensions Solid understanding of trading concepts: Entries, exits, SL/TP, trailing stops Risk % per trade / position sizing Time/session filters, basic risk management Experience building complete algos, not just single indicators Good written English and clear communication Able to work 30+ hours per week, with some overlap in UK time Nice to have (big bonus) Python for data analysis, backtesting or calling APIs Any experience using AI/LLM APIs (e.g. OpenAI) in scripts or tools Experience with prop firm rules and risk constraints Experience converting strategies between Pine and MT4/MT5 What I’m looking for in a person You enjoy thinking about strategies, not just coding instructions You’re proactive and happy to suggest improvements or ideas You care about clean, modular code that can be reused and extended You want a long-term relationship, not just a one-week gig How we’ll start Shortlisted candidates will be given a small paid test task (for example a simple EA or Pine strategy, or a small modular component). If that goes well, we’ll move into a 1–2 month trial at 30+ hours/week. The goal is then to continue on a long-term, ongoing basis as a core developer for our projects. When you apply, please include: Links or screenshots of MT4 EAs/indicators and Pine strategies you have built (with a short description of what each does). A brief explanation of how you would design a modular framework where entries, filters, exits and risk are plug-and-play components. Any experience you have with AI/LLM or Python-based testing/analysis. Your hourly rate for 30+ hours/week and your timezone. Apply tot his job
