About the position The Local Government Affairs Director for PepsiCo will manage key policy and regulatory issues at the local and municipal government level across the western United States. This role is crucial for protecting and supporting PepsiCo's growth ambitions amidst a dynamic policy landscape. The director will develop and execute a strategic vision for public policy and government affairs, ensuring proactive engagement with stakeholders to shape fair policies that align with PepsiCo's business objectives. Responsibilities • Develop, enhance, and execute a strategic vision and multi-year strategy for PPGA within the multistate western US region. • Manage PepsiCo regulatory risk radar to provide visibility and early warning on key regulatory risks. • Ensure early identification of regulatory business risks and align internal stakeholders to address them. • Monitor and research current and relevant emerging public policy issues. • Provide external insight into key policy and regulatory matters affecting commercial and business operational strategy. • Strategic advisory on confidential and sensitive matters including due diligence and stakeholder reputation. • Maintain internal and external-facing platforms to manage public policy content. • Set up relevant industry associations and ensure PepsiCo's participation in consultative processes. • Represent the company in external meetings with governments and industry associations. • Influence public policy in support of PepsiCo's business objectives and enhance the company's reputation. • Drive strategic partnerships to advance PepsiCo's global goals and commitments. • Generate annual strategic plans and budgets for the business. • Ensure effective crisis mitigation and management from a PPGA perspective. • Develop and strengthen the PPGA division in liaison with GM's and HR teams. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Political Science, International Affairs, Legal, Communications, Economics or related field. • 10+ years of relevant experience in corporate affairs, government affairs, PR, CSR, communication or local/municipal government. Nice-to-haves • Industry exposure to fast moving consumer goods. • Proven track record in senior stakeholder management and advising the board on corporate affairs strategies. • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with executives and government.
