Litigation Attorney - Workers Comp Subrogation Practice (Remote)
Derrevere Stevens Black & Cozad (DSB&C) is seeking a Litigation Attorney to join its Workers’ Compensation Subrogation Practice Group—a highly specialized division of the firm’s national litigation platform. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of complex, high-value subrogation matters while working within a supportive and excellence-driven national practice. Role Scope & Core Responsibilities: As a key member of the Workers’ Comp subrogation team, you will: • Oversee a substantial portfolio of workers’ compensation subrogation claims with values ranging from several thousand to millions • Conduct comprehensive intake, fact development, and technical loss investigations • Lead expert retention and collaborate closely with specialists to build strong evidentiary foundations • Draft pleadings, manage discovery, prepare and argue motions, and guide cases through mediation and trial • Identify recovery opportunities, evaluate lien reimbursement potential, and develop strategic paths to maximize client outcomes • Serve as primary point of contact for clients, maintaining clear and proactive communication throughout each matter Qualifications & Professional Capabilities: • 3–5 years of litigation experience with demonstrated ability to manage a varied caseload • Minimum of 20 depositions and 5 mediations Pennsylvania Bar required; additional jurisdictional admissions (NJ, NY, etc.) are valuable for national practice • Experience in subrogation, plaintiff products liability, or plaintiff personal injury is highly desirable • Experience crafting, refining, and optimizing prompts to generate high-quality briefs, memos, deposition outlines, and discovery responses using LLM platforms (i.e., ChatGPT) Career Growth & Professional Development: Attorneys at Derrevere Stevens Black & Cozad benefit from a clearly defined path for professional advancement.
