About the position The American Immigration Council works to strengthen America by shaping how America thinks about and acts towards immigrants and immigration and by working toward a more fair and just immigration system that opens its doors to those in need of protection and unleashes the energy and skills that immigrants bring. The Council brings together individuals adept at solving problems and employs four coordinated approaches to advance change—litigation, research, legislative and administrative advocacy, and communications. The Immigration Justice Campaign's mission is to increase free legal services for immigrants navigating our complicated immigration system and leverage the voices and experiences of those most directly impacted by our country's immigration policies to inform legal and advocacy strategies. This project will involve the creation of an asynchronous, online training course for attorneys to equip them to effectively represent clients in their immigration legal cases, with a focus on LGBTQ+ clients, clients in detention, and other especially vulnerable immigrant groups. The training course will contain several modules for different types of cases and competencies, and will feature assessments enabling the IJC team to track each volunteer's completion of various modules. The course will be publicly available via our website. The chosen approach to developing the project will enable the IJC team to update and create modules in-house beyond the life of the project. Responsibilities • Recommend and oversee the implementation of a software solution to provide training courses • Gather necessary information from the IJC team to inform the content development • Write and create a series of interactive, asynchronous online training modules on various immigration topics • Develop and incorporate quizzes to assess comprehension and competence • Build in tracking mechanisms to monitor completion rates and measure knowledge retention through post-training assessments • Conduct user testing to gather feedback and make necessary adjustments to ensure the final product is effective, accessible, and user-friendly • Attend weekly project tracking meetings with designated member(s) of the IJC team • Submit monthly itemized invoices • Contribute project information as needed to meet grant reporting requirements Requirements • Experience designing, developing, and implementing online training courses, preferably in the legal or HR fields • Experience developing assessments to gauge effectiveness of online training courses • Experience creating and/or procuring creative content to enhance online training courses • Experience working cross-culturally • Experience conducting user testing and implementing findings • The software solution chosen should allow the IJC team to make changes and additions to the modules on an ongoing basis • The software should be accessible for people with disabilities Apply tot his job
