Lead Forensic Investigator - Moisture Intrusion The Lead Forensic Investigator ensures the successful operation of field investigations and reconstruction work, including compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, through management, delegation, and direct involvement as required. General Duties: • Lead and mentor personnel in Investigations and Reconstruction; ensure quality, productivity, and timely client deliverables. • Oversee FGIA Field Testing Services and maintain company standards through guides, training, and QA collaboration. • Promote communication across internal teams including Insurance, Testing, Lab, and QA. • Ensure a safe working environment and use tools for test setup. • Provide excellent customer service and demonstrate strong building envelope knowledge (roofing, walls, air barriers, windows). • Travel up to 75% required; company covers lodging, food, and transportation during travel. Qualifications: • Minimum 5 years of experience in building investigations. • Level I Thermography required; Level II is a plus. • Familiarity with ASTM and AAMA protocols (e.g., ASTM 2128, E1105, AAMA 511, 501). • Valid driver’s license with 2+ years of safe driving. • Willingness to learn and adapt. • Preferred certifications: HAAF Roof, EIFS Cladding, CDT, AAMA Installation Masters, RRC, RRO. Skills: • Experience in building envelope investigations and interpreting blueprints. • Skilled in using measuring tools and making precise cuts with hand/power tools. • Knowledge of building products and assemblies (WRBs, roofing, sealants, claddings, waterproofing). • Strong math, safety awareness, and communication skills (written and verbal). Location: Remote Travel: Up to 75% The expected base salary range for this role is $60,000 - $90,000 USD per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
