Labor & Workforce Economics Analyst - NO AGENCIES
This role supports real operating decisions around staffing, utilization, overtime, coverage, turnover, and financial performance. I am looking for 3 Labor & Workforce Analysts who understands how labor actually behaves inside real operations, not someone who only works with HR metrics, surveys, or generic benchmarks. This is not an HR role. This is not recruiting. This is labor as an operating and financial system. What You Will Work On • Headcount vs workload modeling • FTE, utilization, and coverage requirements • Overtime, premium pay, and shift structure • Absenteeism, turnover, and vacancy drag • Productivity by role, site, and shift • Cost per unit of output • Labor margin and contribution • Schedule efficiency and staffing ratios • Workforce scalability under growth or contraction This work is used to answer questions like: Are we understaffed or mis-staffed? Where is labor destroying margin? How much real capacity do we have? What happens if we lose 10 percent of the workforce? What staffing structure produces the highest economic output? What You Must Be Able To Do • Work with raw payroll and timeclock data • Convert hours into FTE, coverage, and capacity • Model utilization, idle time, and overtime • Tie labor directly to financial outcomes • Build clear Excel-based models • Explain what the numbers mean operationally If your background is primarily HR dashboards, surveys, or generic workforce KPIs, this will not be a fit. Ideal Background • Workforce planning • Operations analytics • Call centers, healthcare, security, logistics, hospitality • Industrial engineering or labor economics • FP&A with heavy labor modeling You must be comfortable working with messy, real-world data. Engagement Structure Project-based to start with repeat work for the right person. To Apply Send: A brief description of your experience with labor data One example of a staffing, workforce, or labor cost model The industries you have worked in If you have never worked with real payroll, hours, or staffing data, do not apply.
