The Judiciary is seeking detail-oriented individuals to manage correspondence, schedule meetings, oversee confidential matters, and support various administrative functions within the Union Vicinage - Municipal Division. Responsibilities Managing correspondence and mailings Scheduling meetings and coordinating agendas Overseeing confidential matters Collecting, organizing, and analyzing information including statistical data Researching information from various sources Composing routine correspondence, charts, and maintaining a filing system Recommend purchase of equipment materials, or supplies Tracking status of work assignments within the division Recording and drafting minutes of meetings Scheduling dates/times for conferences and meetings Participating in team/work unit meetings Answering inquiries from the public Performing other administrative support duties as required Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of the position Skills One year of experience performing a variety of clerical and support services to include typing, secretarial and administrative clerical work Ability to use a keyboard, no minimum speed Successful completion of a clerical training program with a minimum of 700 classroom training hours or 30 semester hour credits in secretarial science may be substituted for one year of the experience indicated above. Course work must include typing skills, methods and procedures Certification of successful completion of the Civil Service Commission, Human Resource Development Institute (HRDI) Support Specialist Program may be substituted for six months of the required experience For some positions, applicants must have the ability to perform work which requires climbing and prolonged standing, stretching, bending and reaching to perform the essential duties of the position For some positions, the selected candidate must be able to frequently lift and carry supplies weighing from 30 to 50 pounds and, occasionally, materials weighing up to 75 pounds, in order to perform essential duties of the position Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations Newly hired employees must agree to a thorough background check that will include fingerprinting In accordance with N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), the 'New Jersey First Act,' all persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey Company Overview New Jersey Courts is a government institution that offers legal proceedings, criminal trials, assistance and case resolution.
