Investment Analyst
We’re looking for someone exceptional to join the core team at Curious as an Investment Analyst in a remote capacity. This is not a back-office role. As an Investment Analyst at Curious, you’ll work in lockstep with the founding team across sourcing, diligence, and post-close integration, helping us build conviction in the companies we acquire and partner with founders to unlock durable, long-term growth. If you’re energized by evaluating real businesses, talking directly with owners, and seeing your work translate into decisions and outcomes…this role is for you. What You’ll Do: You’ll be a core contributor across the full investment lifecycle: • Engage directly with founders and owners via email and calls to evaluate opportunities and build conviction around which businesses we should acquire • Analyze financial performance by reviewing historical results, forecasts, assets, liabilities, and capital structure to build credible models and investment theses • Develop a deep understanding of SaaS and software unit economics, including pricing, margins, ACV, ARR, churn, LTV/CAC, and growth drivers • Help evolve Curious’s underwriting and valuation models, pressure-testing assumptions and supporting return analysis and deal pricing • Collaborate closely with finance and operations during diligence to surface risks, opportunities, and integration considerations • Support post-close transitions, helping ensure a smooth handoff into Curious ownership • Partner with portfolio companies to improve financial visibility, reporting, and operational decision-making over time This is a role with real responsibility, increasing autonomy, and meaningful exposure to how deals actually get done. Who We’re Looking For: We’re less focused on pedigree and more focused on curiosity, judgment, and ownership. The ideal candidate: • Loves business development and numbers • Is self-directed, motivated, and comfortable figuring things out without a playbook • Enjoys forming independent opinions and defending them with data • Communicates clearly with founders, teammates, and stakeholders Experience: • 0–3 years of relevant experience • Background could include investing, finance, consulting, business development, sales, operating roles, or a strong finance-focused academic track • Exceptional recent graduates are welcome. What matters most is analytical rigor, curiosity, and the ability to take ownership Our Values • Decades, not Days: We’re long-term minded. That is apparent in everything we do — the companies we choose to operate, the way we treat people, the decisions we make, the way we show up. Our word is our bond and legacy is our guide. • Fully Autonomous: We are built with people that are great at what they do. Curious is a place that allows them to fully realize that potential. We believe in our individual expertise and operate with earned trust as a core belief. • Relentlessly Curious: This is a place for the intellectually curious. The people that aren’t satisfied with good enough. We love the work we do, we think creatively, and question the status quo. The way it’s been done isn’t necessarily the way it needs to be done. • Simply Transparent: We operate with radical honesty and don’t overcomplicate. We believe in turning on the lights to expose the facts and distilling down complicated things to simple actions. Bureaucracy kills and movement is our version of perfection. • Mountain Climbers: We seek out adversity and lean into challenging situations. We care more about the quality of a person than their pedigree. We're underdogs. We love the journey more than the destination and constantly seek new mountains to climb. • Once Curious, Always Curious: Our people make us, both at head office and at our portfolio companies. We know that. Every person that joins us is always part of the Curious family, while they're here, and more importantly, long after.
