About the position As an Insurance Verification Coordinator, you will play a key role in helping patients access the care they need by verifying coverage, supporting reimbursement processes, and providing clear, compassionate communication. You will collaborate across teams, manage critical information, and ensure accuracy in insurance documentation to strengthen service delivery and patient experience. Responsibilities • Verify insurance coverage, calculate costs, and document details accurately in patient profiles. • Enter and update patient demographics and maintain complete, organized records. • Determine medical vs. pharmacy benefits and generate financial responsibility letters. • Review benefits with patients and identify copay, foundation, or donated drug assistance programs. • Secure required insurance documents and obtain prior authorizations when needed. • Coordinate completion of financial assistance forms, payment agreements, and waivers. • Assist with training new employees and support daily workflow organization. • Create hospital and physician codes when necessary and support reimbursement research. • Collaborate with team members to prioritize tasks and maintain a customer-focused service mindset. • Meet quality and productivity standards, demonstrating reliability and strong follow‑through. • Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational needs. Requirements • High school diploma or GED. • Minimum 2 years of insurance verification, prior authorization, or related healthcare experience. • Knowledge of medical terminology, payer websites, eligibility, and coordination of benefits. • Understanding of pharmacy vs. medical payer requirements and plan formularies. • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office. • Strong math skills and attention to detail. Nice-to-haves • Excellent communication, organization, and time‑management skills. • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality. • Experience working with reimbursement processes or healthcare documentation.
