The Employment Development Department (EDD) is one of the largest State departments in California, focused on connecting job seekers with employers. They are seeking a motivated individual to work as a Mainframe Release Technician, responsible for quality control and release functions in EDD's mainframe production environment. Responsibilities Join a team that will provide you with extremely valuable experience in version control software, Job Control Language (JCL), along with frequent exposure to program developers, managers and other staff in the Information Technology Branch Under the guidance of the IT Supervisor II, the Mainframe Release Technician will work closely with the Mainframe Release Analyst in performing the quality control and all release functions of EDD's mainframe production environment This includes ensuring programming code to be migrated is in conformance with EDD standards Additionally, the incumbent will assist with JCL, schedule and facilitate walk-thru's with developers, partake in implementation planning meetings and help with migrating code to EDD's mainframe environment, as well as other tasks Skills Current version of the State Examination/Employment Application STD Form 678 (when not applying electronically), or the Electronic State Employment Application through your Applicant Account at www.CalCareers.ca.gov.
