The California State Controller's Office is seeking an Information Technology Specialist I to provide IT support within the Local Government Programs and Services Division. The role involves coding, testing, and debugging applications, analyzing databases, and providing technical support for desktop computers and mobile devices. Responsibilities Code, test, and debug applications that support the Division and its reporting functions Analyze critical/complex databases, applications, and other production services such as, but not limited to: the Agile Payment System (APS), Property Tax Postponement, Local Government Reporting, and mainframe systems such as the Local Reimbursements System and Fiscal System. Develop and identify flow charts and documentation showing the interfaces, links, and interdependencies between all such systems supported by the divisions Provide technical support for desktop computers and mobile devices, which include a wide variety of PC hardware platforms, software applications, and peripherals Provide active directory work-group administration tasks specific to desktop access rights to network resources, viruses, and printing Provide verbal and/or written instruction to customers in the proper use of equipment and software Establish and maintain File Transfer Protocol (FTP) processes including the addition of new FTP processes and the resolution of FTP issues with the various agencies Act as a resource on all aspects of software in terms of use, features, limitations, compatibility, and interoperability.
