Human Health Risk Assessor
About the position The Human Health Risk Assessor at AECOM will play a crucial role in supporting a variety of projects for both private and government clients, focusing on human health risk assessments in compliance with regulatory standards. This position involves developing risk assessment work plans, coordinating with project teams, and preparing technical deliverables, all while maintaining high-quality work standards. The role is flexible, allowing for in-office or hybrid work arrangements, and is expected to commence in 2024. Responsibilities • Supporting a wide range of projects for private and government clients throughout the U.S. and internationally. • Performing human health risk assessments in accordance with regulatory guidance and project-specific work plans. • Developing Risk Assessment Work Plans and contributing to Sampling and Analysis Plans/Quality Assurance Project Plans. • Successfully coordinating with internal project teams, including delegating to junior staff. • Preparing technical deliverables, including writing reports and performing/reviewing risk assessment calculations. • Maintaining knowledge of federal and state regulations/guidance documents for conducting risk assessments. • Maintaining work quality, quantity, and efficiency at or above company standards. Requirements • BA/BS in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Toxicology, Biology, Public Health, Environmental Health or related field + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. • US Citizenship is required due to the nature of work. • Applied knowledge of USEPA Risk Assessment Guidance for Superfund (RAGS). Nice-to-haves • Masters Degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Toxicology, Biology, Public Health, Environmental Health or related field. • 5+ years of experience performing human health risk assessments in an environmental consulting setting. • Excellent technical writing and communication skills. • Experience performing data analysis and applied statistics. • Experience conducting vapor intrusion assessments. • Experience evaluating PFAS, PCBs, and lead.
