Description Office Manager Permanent · Full-time · Hybrid Remote/In- Person The Opportunity The Department of Health (DOH) is seeking a skilled administrative leader to support the mission of protecting and improving the health of people in Washington State. As part of the Center for Access to Whole Person Care (CAWPC) within the Executive Office of Prevention, Safety and Health (OPSH), you will help advance the Quintuple Aim: health equity, better care, affordable care, a resilient workforce, and improved population health. This role ensures smooth, efficient, and coordinated operations across the Center and serves as a key member of the CAWPC leadership team. Key Responsibilities • Lead the planning, organization, and oversight of administrative, processing, and service functions for CAWPC. • Develop, implement, and maintain standards and procedures aligned with state and federal guidelines. • Review and recommend improvements to office policies, procedures, and systems. • Build strong working relationships with CAWPC staff, agency staff and other office managers. • Provide proactive oversight of office operations and support a collaborative work environment. • Coordinate regional and statewide CAWPC events—both virtual and in-person—including logistics, procurement, and marketing. • Participate in administrative team efforts, sharing updates and supporting Center-wide initiatives. • Oversee purchasing, procurement processing, A19 support, and contract forecasting. Location and Flexibility Enjoy the flexibility of our hybrid work environment, where you can balance working from home and collaborating in the office. It is anticipated that you’ll be at the DOH facility located in Tumwater, WA, for work activities 1 day a week. While “Preferred Experience” is not required, these skills or experiences can help you stand out as a candidate. • Option 1: Four (4) or more years of experience in a professional office environment providing higher-level administrative support to an Office Director/Manager or above. • Option 2: An associate's degree or higher, and (2) or more years of experience in a professional office environment providing higher-level administrative support to an Office Director/Manager or above. Additional Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience: • Demonstrated experience effectively using MS Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and the internet for research. • One (1) or more years of experience in the following: • Supervising or leading and directing the work of one (1) or more employees. • Independently composing letters from drafts, memos, notes, or other instructions. • Editing and proofreading memos, letters, reports, or other forms of written documents; or successful completion of a college course in editing or proofreading. • Performing record-keeping tasks such as posting and totaling numbers or other data on a computer; calculating travel expenses; processing payroll records or requisitions; ordering of supplies; conducting inventory of supplies or equipment; or reviewing customer forms for completeness and accuracy. Preferred/Desired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience: • Five (5) or more years of experience in a professional office environment providing higher-level administrative support to an Office Director/Manager or above. • Experience conferring, coordinating, or communicating with a multitude of programs within a complex organizational structure. • Experience leading a team or mentoring colleagues, providing feedback and coaching on a regular basis. Conditions of Employment: This position is covered by a bargaining unit for which the Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE) is the exclusive representative.
