Role Description Red Hat’s Content team is looking for a curious, experienced Data Scientist to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you’ll help our Marketing Content team make data-informed decisions quickly. You’ll contribute to the analytical engine behind our content strategy, helping us understand what resonates with our audience and why so that ultimately we can create and optimize content that helps our audience. How? You'll transform raw data into compelling and actionable recommendations by building data pipelines, developing predictive models, and creating intuitive visualizations. You’ll work closely with our Data Analytics team, Content Strategists, SEO Analysts, and internal data scientists. What you will do: • Collaborate directly with the Marketing Content team to identify key business questions and analytical needs. • Build and maintain data pipelines: Design and implement robust ETL processes to consolidate data from various sources, including web analytics, social media platforms, and our CRM. • Develop models: Apply statistical analysis and machine learning techniques to analyze content performance, segment our audience, and predict engagement trends. • Visualize insights: Create, manage, and automate insightful dashboards and reports in Tableau and/or Streamlit that clearly communicate findings to stakeholders. • Analyze and report: Conduct ad-hoc analysis to answer pressing questions and present your findings in a clear, concise manner to both technical and non-technical team members. • Support the development of internal, AI-enabled tools. Qualifications • Empathy for our audience. • Experience in a quantitative field like Data Science, Statistics, or Computer Science. • 2+ years of experience in a data science or analytics role. • Strong proficiency in Python, especially with libraries like Pandas, NumPy, Streamlit, and Scikit-learn. • Solid skills in SQL for extracting and manipulating data from relational databases. • Hands-on experience building effective visualizations and dashboards in Tableau. • A solid grasp of fundamental machine learning algorithms and statistical concepts. • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for a non-technical audience. • Comfort with change, including those brought about internally within the company or externally in the market. Requirements • Bonus points for a passion for open source technologies. • Familiarity with cloud data tools like Databricks. • Prior experience with marketing, web analytics, and SEO data.
