High-End 3D HMI UI/UX Designer (Tesla / Apple Aesthetic)
Project Overview We are an industrial machinery manufacturer building a next-generation Human-Machine Interface (HMI) for a new PET blowmolding machine. We want an experience that feels like Tesla Cybertruck UI meets Apple iPadOS—minimalist, cinematic, fluid, and touch-first. This job is for Phase 1 (Design Only): visual language, high-fidelity screens, and motion concepts. If you also develop in React / Three.js, there is potential for Phase 2 (build). Hardware & Context (for your design) Industrial PC: Festo IPC (Windows/Linux) Control Logic: Codesys SoftPLC (headless) UI Layer (Phase 2): likely React + Electron + Three.js Communication: OPC UA over WebSocket Display: High-resolution multi-touch industrial screen You’re not coding this now, but your designs must be realistic for a React/Three.js frontend. What We Need in Phase 1 (Your Scope) Aesthetic / Style Visual references: Tesla Cybertruck UI, Apple iPadOS Keywords: Minimalist, Dark Mode, Cinematic, Spatial, Fluid Animations: micro-interactions, physics-based easing (springy menus, subtle motion, not flat/static) Core Screens & Features Hero Dashboard with 3D Machine View Center of the UI is a high-fidelity 3D render of our machine We supply CAD/OBJ 3D files Ability to show: Rotating / panning machine Tappable hotspots on components Pop-up info cards with status (pressure, temp, state) Alarm state visualization: faulty part glows/pulses red Exploded view: machine expands to reveal internal components for troubleshooting Navigation Concept We have an internal concept of a 3D cube-style navigation (concept docs provided) Each face represents a user mode/profile/section Your job: refine this into a usable, premium navigation (it can be a cube or another spatial/3D concept if your UX is better, but it must feel modern and dimensional) Additional Screens Alarm & fault views Settings / configuration Operator modes / workflows Touch-first patterns (large hit targets, swipes, etc.) Deliverables High-Fidelity UI Mockups Main dashboard with 3D machine Navigation / “Cube” concept Alarm / fault screens Settings / secondary screens Style Guide Colors (dark theme) Typography Iconography (SVG) Layout, spacing, component structure Motion / Interaction Prototype Short video or interactive prototype showing: How the cube/menu animates How the machine “explodes” into components How alarms highlight parts Micro-interactions (buttons, transitions, etc.) Requirements Strong portfolio with futuristic dashboards, product UI, automotive UI, 3D-based UI, or similar Tools: Figma or Adobe XD for UI Blender or similar for basic 3D scene composition in mockups After Effects / Prototype / similar for motion concepts Ability to think in real-time, performance-aware 3D UI (what can realistically be done in Three.js / WebGL) Nice-to-haves Experience with Three.js or React-Three-Fiber Experience with React / Electron Industrial HMI or automotive UI background Attachments You’ll Receive Cube HMI – Cinematic 3D Animation Plan.docx HMI Animation Spec – 11 10 2025.docx 3D model files of the machine (CAD/OBJ) Visual references Budget & Next Steps Budget (Phase 1): $1,500 – $3,500 USD Type: Fixed-price Timeline: Ideally within 2–6 weeks, depending on your process To apply, please include: Links to relevant work (futuristic dashboards, automotive, 3D or motion-heavy interfaces) A brief note on how you’d approach a Tesla/Apple-style industrial HMI What tools you use for UI + motion + 3D Whether you’re also interested in Phase 2 (React/Three.js build) Apply tot his job
