Grants Writer (Volunteer Role)

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Grants Writer to join our team in a volunteer capacity. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about nonprofit work, fundraising, and program development to contribute their skills toward advancing our organization’s mission. The Grants Writer will be responsible for preparing compelling grant proposals and supporting the organization’s strategic growth initiatives. Duties • Develop, write, and submit high-quality grant proposals and funding applications for identified grant opportunities. • Manage and maintain grant-related documentation within databases like Raiser's Edge and other contract management systems. • Collaborate with the Foundation's internal working groups to gather necessary information and ensure proposals accurately reflect organizational needs and objectives. • Proofread and edit proposals to ensure clarity, accuracy, and compliance with funder guidelines. • Assist in developing budgets for grant applications and monitor ongoing grant compliance requirements. • Support fundraising efforts by contributing to donor communications and stewardship activities related to grants. • Maintain organized records of all grant activities, deadlines, and correspondence. Qualifications • Proven experience in grant proposal writing, technical writing, and editing. • Familiarity with fundraising strategies, contract management, and financial report writing. • Experience working with databases such as Hubspot or similar CRM systems. • Strong research skills to identify funding opportunities relevant to organizational programs. • Excellent writing skills with an ability to craft compelling narratives that align with funder priorities. • Ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively while maintaining attention to detail. • Knowledge of program development, strategic planning, budgeting, and contract management is preferred. • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
