Graduate Structural Engineer
Sedgman Canada Ltd. is hiring a Graduate Structural Engineer for their Vancouver, B.C. office. The selected candidate will support structural engineering projects by conducting design, investigation, managing budgets and schedules, and preparing technical reports. Responsibilities Perform structural and concrete designs ensuring compliance with relevant codes, industry standards Participate in concept studies, including estimating quantities and preliminary designs Perform detailed concrete and steel design, including interaction with Drafters to produce models and documentation in line with QA Compliance Assist with construction enquiries, including safe lifting and erection Interface with other Engineering disciplines, including Electrical, Process and Mechanical Focus on technical innovation and continuous improvement Skills Bachelor's degree in structural engineering 0 – 3 years of experience in structural design Must be eligible to register with the EGBC or will have their P.Eng EGBC designation Good understanding of steel and concrete design for heavy industrial structures Ability to safely and effectively self-manage time, priorities and activities Good communication skills with well-developed written and oral skills Proven ability to work as part of a team Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills Must be available to travel to Client sites; may be seconded to work on projects, either temporarily relocated, or placed on a rotational roster Must be eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship Previous mining or metals industry experience is highly desired Experience with Canadian building code across the provinces is desirable Benefits RRSP matching plan Health and benefits package Company Overview Sedgman is a leading provider of mineral processing and associated infrastructure solutions to the global resources industry.
