Government Contract Research VA – SAM.gov & State Procurement Search Specialist - Contract to Hire
Description: I am looking for a reliable Government Contract Research Virtual Assistant who can consistently find relevant federal, state, and local contracting opportunities for my company. This role is NOT proposal writing. It is NOT FAR consulting. It is strictly research + contract hunting + organizing opportunities. Your Responsibilities: 1. Search Daily/Weekly for Contracts You will search: Federal: SAM.gov FEMA DLA/DIBBS GSA eBuy (viewable opportunities) State/Local: BidNet Texas SmartBuy County & City portals School district procurement portals 2. Match Opportunities to Our NAICS Codes: You must know how to match solicitations to NAICS such as: 561720 (Janitorial Services) 561730 (Landscaping Services) 484110 / 484121 (Trucking) 562119 (Waste Collection) 562910 (Remediation) 236220 / 238990 (Construction Support) 624230 (Emergency & Relief Services) (You will receive the full list once hired.) 3. Identify ONLY Relevant Opportunities You will find: RFQs RFPs IFBs Sources Sought Pre-solicitations Micro-purchases Subcontract listings with major primes 4. Summarize Each Opportunity Each opportunity must include: Title Agency Deadline Set-aside type Location NAICS used Requirements summary Document links Prime contractor (if subcontracting) 5. Update a Google Sheet for Tracking A simple structured spreadsheet updated daily or weekly. Required Skills & Experience You MUST have experience with: ✔ Searching SAM.gov ✔ Matching opportunities using NAICS codes ✔ Reading basic solicitation documents (RFQ/RFP/IFB) ✔ BidNet / state procurement portals ✔ Using Google Sheets ✔ Fast data entry and clean organization Do NOT apply if you: ✘ Have never used SAM.gov ✘ Only know proposal writing ✘ Are unfamiliar with NAICS codes ✘ Cannot deliver consistent weekly results ✘ Only want high-level federal consulting work ⭐ Preferred (Not Required): • FEMA contracting experience • DLA/DIBBS searching experience • Experience supporting trucking/landscaping/janitorial companies • Ability to spot bid “red flags” • Good English for summary writing How to Apply To be considered, please answer ALL questions: Which portals have you searched before?
