Genetic Counselor, Report Writer
Job Description: • Performs variant interpretation and writes reports. • May act as subject matter expert for a group of genes, disorders, tests, and/or processes. • Supports team efforts required to meet corporate and team goals and objectives. • Abstracts clinical information from patient records. • Manages urgent or complex cases at specific steps or throughout the testing process. • Prepares or provides clinical review of materials for website, marketing materials, or other projects. • Assists with populating variant, gene, or disease-specific test information, report language, or other clinical information in internal databases. • Performs other duties assigned in support of the team or department. Requirements: • Master’s degree from an accredited genetic counseling program. • Prior clinical or laboratory experience preferred but not required. • Certification by American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) or equivalent. • Genetic counseling licensure in the state where the employee works, if applicable.
