Fundraising and CSR Lead (Volunteer)
About this Virtual Volunteer Opportunity: As a Fundraising and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Lead, you will help ReadyMeNow build early funding pathways that support our Seat Bank and CPR popups. This virtual volunteer leadership role has an immediate focus on creating practical, repeatable funding streams in our early phase. Important Note: This is a rewarding volunteer opportunity to help others by donating your time and talent._ It is not a compensated or paid employment position._ This role is limited to individuals who are currently living in the United States and able to complete a U.S. based background check through our third party provider. Preference is given to candidates who are familiar with Mississippi or the Southeast. Key Responsibilities: • Lead focused fundraising and CSR efforts in close collaboration with the Founding Executive Director. • Develop clear Seat Bank and CPR popup sponsorship offers for employers and sponsors, plan simple levels, and describe benefits to funders. • Identify and qualify local and regional CSR, sponsorship, and grant opportunities that align with our mission and current capacity. • Draft and refine short letters of inquiry, brief proposals, and follow up messages to employers, funders, and CSR partners. • Help shape descriptions and messaging for CSR style listings and giving campaigns on platforms such as Deeds, PayPal Giving Fund, GoFundMe, and similar channels. • Support basic digital outreach for fundraising campaigns by providing clear copy and simple content ideas for webpages, emails, and social posts. • Create simple talking points and one page handouts that local volunteers can use at trainings and tabling events when they speak about Seat Bank and CPR popups. • Track straightforward fundraising metrics, such as employer conversations started and sponsorships or pledges secured, and share regular updates with the Executive Director. Qualifications: • Currently living in the United States, with interest in strengthening charitable education and emergency readiness in communities throughout Mississippi. • Experience in one or more of these areas: fundraising, grant writing, CSR or corporate giving, nonprofit development, sponsorships, or campaign strategy. • Strong plain language writing skills and virtual presentation skills for short proposals, emails, and one page cases for support. • Comfortable working virtually and collaborating with a very small leadership team in a startup nonprofit environment. • Able to think in terms of simple systems and repeatable processes rather than one time efforts only. • Reliable time commitment, as much as 4 to 8 hours per week in the early months, then 2 to 4 hours per week as cadence stabilizes. • Formal degree not required. We welcome self taught and nontraditional backgrounds with solid fundraising or CSR experience. Your work in this role will help secure the funding that makes free training, Seat Bank support, and volunteer readiness programs possible in communities throughout Mississippi.
