Front End Engineer (React Native / React)
About the position Responsibilities • Develop new components for Workit Health's iOS, Android and web applications • Collaboratively expand and refactor an existing React Native application • Contribute to a growing design language and help to apply it to existing components • Research, scope, and test new technologies to improve our team workflow and user experience • Provide code review and test software for accessibility and reliability across a variety of devices • Help define best practices for development processes • Collaborate with our design team to develop new features and functionality • Work with technologies in any or all of the following areas: video conferencing, chat messaging, datetime management, complex user interface design, token authentication • Provide ongoing maintenance of applications, improving our infrastructure and making our applications more reliable • Provide engineering support for IT tickets/bug reports via Sentry, Asana, Jira, & Github on an as-needed basis Requirements • 2+ years of Javascript experience • BA in computer programming, computer science or related field; or 3 years of industry experience. • 1-2 years of React Native experience • Knowledge of RESTful APIs • Experience testing, releasing and deploying native applications in App Store and Play Store • Knowledge of systems design concepts • Comfortable using git, managing multiple branches, resolving merge conflicts • Comfort and reliability with remote communication: Slack, Jira, video stand-ups Nice-to-haves • Excitement for telehealth solutions • Excitement for gamification and motivational interfaces • Experience with test-driven development and the use of testing frameworks • Familiarity with expo, sentry, and a variety of JS frameworks • Experience with working in a fully distributed team • Experience working with HIPAA compliant systems • Experience with WCAG/W3C accessibility compliance Benefits • 5 weeks PTO (includes your birthday, 2 mental health days, and 2 floating holidays!) • 11 paid holidays • Comprehensive health, dental, pharmacy, and vision insurance with options to fit your family's needs • Company contributions to dependent premiums at higher than market rates (65%) • 12 weeks paid Parental Leave after 1 year of employment (includes maternity, paternity, adoption, and all ways in which our people build modern families) • 401k + 4% discretionary matching • Healthcare & dependent care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) • Health Savings Accounts (HSA) • Employee assistance program, complete with financial coaching and counseling sessions • Professional development allowance for healthcare providers • Opportunities for professional development and growth within the company • Fully remote roles company-wide • Vibrant, employee-driven cultural initiatives including multiple ERG groups • Colleagues who care deeply about closing health disparity gaps within the addiction space for underserved populations Apply tot his job
