Fractional CFO (Mental Heath)
The Fractional CFO will support the home health and behavioral health services organization remotely. This position will focus on financial leadership, including budgeting and forecasting, and on improving overall financial performance. It will be on a contract basis for 8-10 hours per week over the next 6-12 months, with the potential for permanent conversion. Responsibilities • Build and maintain cash flow forecasts and runway scenarios • Improve visibility into near-term and long-term cash needs • Identify financial risks early and recommend mitigation plans • Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecasting • Create variance reporting and a consistent monthly cadence • Partner with leadership to align spend with operational priorities • Develop clear, board-ready financial reporting and dashboards • Translate financial data into actionable insights for leadership • Improve reporting consistency, accuracy, and timeliness • Support fundraising readiness and capital planning (as needed) • Build models and materials for lenders, investors, and stakeholders • Provide scenario modeling tied to growth, staffing, and service expansion • Provide financial analysis tied to payer/provider performance • Support reimbursement and margin analysis by service line • Strengthen financial insight into revenue cycle drivers and outcomes • Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Must Haves: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field required; CPA and/or MBA preferred. 10+ years of progressive finance leadership (CFO, VP Finance, or equivalent) • Strong experience in healthcare services, ideally home health, behavioral health, IDD services, or outpatient settings • Healthcare or behavioral health finance experience • Working knowledge of payer dynamics, reimbursement, and revenue cycle performance • Proven ability to build or improve budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes • Confidence presenting to executives and boards and advising on high-stakes decisions • Comfort working in lean environments and creating structure without heavy support • Nonprofit or grant funding knowledge Job Type: Full-time Pay: $125.00 - $175.00 per hour Work Location: Remote Apply tot his job
