Job Overview: Writing Tutor for 6th Grader with ADHD/Dyslexia/Dysgraphia We're seeking a compassionate and skilled Writing Tutor to work with a 6th grader who has special needs, including ADHD, Dyslexia, and Dysgraphia. As a Writing Tutor, you'll play a vital role in helping this student develop their writing skills, build confidence, and overcome challenges. This is a part-time, in-home tutoring opportunity that requires a flexible schedule and a commitment to delivering exceptional results. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-on-one writing tutoring to a 6th grader with special needs, twice a week, for one hour per session Create customized lesson plans that cater to the student's unique needs and learning style Develop and implement engaging, interactive tutoring sessions that promote academic progress and confidence Communicate effectively with the student, parents, and Club Z! staff to ensure seamless collaboration and progress monitoring Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions, progress, and materials used Arrive on time to tutoring sessions, with reliable transportation, and be willing to travel up to 15 miles (mileage reimbursement provided) Essential Qualifications: Experience working with students with special needs, particularly ADHD, Dyslexia, and Dysgraphia Strong writing instruction skills, with the ability to break down complex concepts into manageable steps Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and staff Ability to create customized lesson plans and adapt to the student's learning style Reliable transportation, with willingness to travel up to 15 miles Flexible scheduling, with availability on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays Preferred Qualifications: Teaching or tutoring experience, particularly in writing instruction Knowledge of specialized teaching methods and strategies for students with special needs Experience with educational software and technology, including online learning platforms Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities Skills and Competencies: Patience, empathy, and understanding when working with students with special needs Creativity and flexibility in lesson planning and delivery Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits: As a valued member of our team, you'll have access to ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
