About the Role We are looking for a highly skilled WordPress and WooCommerce developer to work closely with our development team on a part-time or full-time basis. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing, maintaining, and improving our WordPress and WooCommerce installation, as well as delivering custom functionality to meet our business needs. Key Responsibilities Custom development of WordPress plugins and custom functionality as needed to enhance our online presence and improve user experience Provide general support for site upkeep and maintenance, including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues Build, support, and maintain/debug API integrations as needed to integrate with third-party services and improve website functionality Manage WordPress core and plugin updates via versioning in GIT to ensure our website remains secure and up-to-date Support and maintain site performance via complex caching as we add new features and plugins to improve page load times and user experience Support and maintain/help develop backend functionality as needed to improve website efficiency and scalability Support debugging and testing/QA both on production and staging environments to ensure high-quality code and minimal errors Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications: Must be US-based, English fluent, and residing in the EST or CST time zones to facilitate effective communication and collaboration with our team Must be proficient in JS, JSON, PHP, MySQL, jQuery, HTML, APIs, and CSS to develop custom solutions and maintain our website You must be able to show several plugins or custom applications that you have built and maintained to demonstrate your expertise and experience Must have the ability to run Shell commands as needed to perform tasks and troubleshoot issues Must be able to show a GIT profile or something similar so we can review your past projects and assess your coding skills Must have the ability to multitask and prioritize to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate with our development team to achieve common goals Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and changing environment and adapt to new technologies and challenges Detail-oriented with strong communication and organizational skills to ensure effective project management and minimal errors Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred: Ability to lead staff, institute processes, and establish work discipline to improve team efficiency and productivity Ability to project manage and coordinate multiple tasks and projects simultaneously Good problem-solving skills and ability to think critically and outside the box Demonstrated ability to work with Slack, Gsheets, and Trello to facilitate effective communication and collaboration Can work remotely and manage your time effectively to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results Education and Experience The ideal candidate will have: High School Diploma or Equivalent, with a college degree being a plus At least 7 years of experience in all required languages, including WordPress, WooCommerce, PHP, and MySQL Highly proficient and have a high level of understanding of WooCommerce and WordPress to develop custom solutions and maintain our website Highly proficient with GIT and version control systems to manage code and collaborate with our team Previous experience working with a team of developers to achieve common goals and deliver high-quality results Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Workwarp, we are committed to helping our employees grow and develop their skills.
