Key Responsibilities Assist the Lead Teacher in managing classroom activities, ensuring compliance with Florida Office of Early Learning and the goals and objectives of the current VPK curriculum. Build and maintain positive, nurturing, and supportive relationships with children and families. Conduct ongoing assessments of children's growth and development to inform instruction and measure progress toward goals. Plan individualized curriculum to meet the specific needs of children, including those with disabilities. Arrange for outdoor activities daily, weather permitting, to extend the learning environment. Follow health and safety procedures for hand washing, toileting, handling bodily fluids, sanitizing toys and equipment, administering medication, serving food, and supervising children. Complete timely, neat, and accurate documentation, including screenings, assessments, individualized plans, attendance, feedings, and daily activity logs for parents. Essential Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Experience working in a classroom environment with children. Knowledge of group dynamics, facilitation, and collaboration. Ability to interpret, apply, and audit various policies, procedures, and regulations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to handle highly stressful and sensitive situations in a professional manner. Preferred Qualifications Experience in early childhood education. Knowledge of VPK curriculum and Florida Office of Early Learning regulations. Previous experience as a VPK Assistant Teacher or similar role.
