Job Overview We are seeking experienced and passionate Virtual Math Tutors to join our team of dedicated educators. As a Virtual Math Tutor, you will have the opportunity to work with students in grades 6, 7, and 8, supporting them in their understanding of middle school math concepts. Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality virtual math tutoring to students in grades 6, 7, and 8, supporting their understanding of middle school math concepts Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, providing personalized support and guidance to help them achieve their academic goals Commit to a consistent schedule, working with the same students multiple times a week, to build a strong tutor-student relationship and support the efficacy of our research study Complete curriculum reviews and prepare for tutoring sessions, using our provided lesson materials and online platform Utilize online virtual tools and technology to deliver engaging and interactive tutoring sessions, promoting student participation and learning Communicate effectively with students, parents, and our team, providing regular updates on student progress and responding to feedback and concerns Essential Qualifications Relevant experience working with school-age learners in some capacity, such as teaching, tutoring, or mentoring Relatively consistent ongoing calendar availability from 8am-9am EST, 3-4 days a week Ability to effectively instruct and engage students with clear communication and interpersonal skills A high comfort level with online virtual tools and technology, including desktop or laptop computers, video cameras, and reliable internet connections Residence in the continental United States, Alaska, or Hawaii A bachelor's degree is preferred, but college students are welcome to apply with 1+ years of relevant experience Preferred Qualifications Experience working with students in grades 6, 7, and 8, or similar age groups Strong knowledge of middle school math concepts and curriculum Familiarity with online tutoring platforms and virtual learning environments Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to adapt to new situations and challenges Skills and Competencies Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues Excellent teaching and tutoring skills, with the ability to adapt to different learning styles and needs Strong technical skills, with the ability to utilize online virtual tools and technology to deliver high-quality tutoring sessions Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and teamwork Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Littera Education, we are committed to supporting the professional growth and development of our tutors.
