Key Responsibilities Provide health-related training to staff and individuals supported, promoting holistic nursing practices and empowering them to manage their health effectively. Conduct routine nursing assessments, identifying health needs and conditions, and develop strategies to address them. Collaborate with staff to ensure preventative and routine medical appointments are scheduled, and individuals receive necessary care. Actively participate in person-centered planning, working with individuals to achieve their goals and aspirations. Interact with staff at the RHA office and residential homes, providing guidance and support as needed. Observe, assess, and evaluate the health needs and conditions of individuals supported, and develop targeted interventions. Teach individuals to monitor their health and manage their medication regimens effectively. Review documentation collected by residential care employees, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Perform quality assurance checks and observations to ensure Direct Care Assistants are providing high-quality care. Serve on the safety committee, contributing to the development of strategies to promote a safe and healthy environment. Conduct nursing house assessments to ensure medications are stored and managed in accordance with state regulations. Provide enhanced nursing services, addressing complex health needs and promoting optimal outcomes. Deliver health-related training to direct support staff, enhancing their knowledge and skills. Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you'll need: An Associate's degree in Nursing; a Bachelor's degree is preferred. A valid state RN certification. Experience working with individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities is preferred, but not required. A valid driver's license and auto insurance. The ability to lift between 20 and 50 pounds and provide CPR after certification. The capacity to pass a background check and drug screen. Excellent listening and communication skills, with the ability to pick up on nonverbal cues. The ability to remain calm in crisis situations and respond effectively. Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications will be highly regarded: Experience in holistic nursing practices and person-centered care. Knowledge of intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health, and substance use support services. Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
