**Experienced Sylvan Teacher/Tutor – Part-time Remote Learning Position with Sylvan Learning Center**

Our remote learning platform allows you to work from anywhere, offering the flexibility you need to balance your personal and professional life. **Job Summary** As a Sylvan Teacher/Tutor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to students, evaluating their progress, and providing feedback to support their growth. You will work closely with our team to create customized learning plans, manage student progress, and maintain accurate records. This is a part-time remote position, offering a competitive salary and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students. **Key Responsibilities** * Prepare for each instructional session by gathering and preparing materials as necessary * Greet students and initiate instruction to personally engage each student * Instruct students according to the design of the Sylvan programs, using a variety of teaching methods to cater to different learning styles * Manage students, tasks, and time to create a balanced and robust instructional session * Evaluate and record the progress of each student on their program assignment, using praise and encouragement to ensure students are engaged and inspired to learn * Motivate students with Sylvan tokens given for specific achievements according to the Sylvan instructional management standards * Record and track tokens earned by students * Manage the conclusion of each instructional session and manage the completion of learning log and transition activities; support procedures to ensure student safety and well-being * Communicate specific student needs to center staff * Attend periodic staff meetings and complete ongoing training as needed * Complete certification training on each Sylvan program taught to students **Essential Qualifications** * Four-year degree or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g., education, child development, or a related field) * State or provincial teaching credentials (current or expired) * Minimum of one or two years of teaching experience (preferably in a similar setting) * Knowledge of phonics and reading comprehension (preferred for reading teachers) * Familiarity with general office equipment, such as copiers, printers, and office phones * Proven ability to engage, motivate, and inspire students to learn * Strong interpersonal and communication skills * Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and be flexible * Strong problem-solving and customer service skills * Strong team player **Preferred Qualifications** * Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles * Familiarity with tablet computers and other digital tools * Knowledge of math concepts and curriculum design (for math program teachers) * Experience with test preparation and advanced reading skills (for SAT/ACT, Test Prep, and Advanced Reading Skills teachers) **Skills and Competencies** * Strong organizational and time management skills * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Proven ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities * Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills * Familiarity with educational software and technology * Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information **Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits** As a Sylvan Teacher/Tutor, you will have access to ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
