Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality instruction and support to students in the absence of their regular teacher Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the school's curriculum and standards Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and students to ensure a smooth educational experience Participate in 1:1 check-ins with your Scoot consultant to discuss school feedback and develop your teaching skills Take advantage of free online training opportunities to enhance your teaching practices and stay up-to-date on best practices in education Essential Qualifications Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor NJ Substitute Credential Background check and TB risk assessment (Scoot Education will cover the cost of this) Full COVID-19 vaccination A passion for education and putting students first An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be Preferred Qualifications Previous experience as a Substitute Teacher or in a related educational role Special education experience or training Subject-specific expertise in areas like Math, Science, English, or Special Education What We Offer Competitive pay: earn up to $190 for day-to-day assignments, and more for long-term assignments Weekly pay: get paid for your work on a regular schedule W-2 employment: no need to worry about taxes or benefits $0 onboarding costs: we'll reimburse you for expenses related to state background checks Referral incentives: earn $100 gift cards when you refer friends to sub with Scoot Ongoing support: receive 1:1 check-ins and guidance from your Scoot consultant Professional development: access free online training and resources to enhance your teaching skills Career Growth Opportunities At Scoot Education, we're committed to helping you grow and develop as a professional.
