About the Job We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Engineer - Big Data to join our team, responsible for designing, developing, and implementing big data solutions that drive business growth and innovation. This is a full-time, remote position that offers a competitive salary of $20-30 per hour, with a minimum of 8 hours of work per day. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement big data solutions using Hadoop, Spark, and other related technologies Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements and develop solutions that meet those needs Write high-quality code, including API specs, and conduct code reviews and testing Apply innovative approaches to problem-solving, including data science and machine learning techniques Work with agile methodologies, including Scrum, to deliver high-quality solutions quickly and efficiently Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes that increase efficiency and effectiveness Collaborate with other teams to develop and implement data pipelines for batch and real-time data processing Develop and maintain technical and functional specifications, and analyze software and system processing streams Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong educational foundation in a relevant field, such as computer science, engineering, or a related field. You will also need to have a minimum of 2 years of experience in software development, with a focus on big data technologies. Additionally, you will need to have: A bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science, or equivalent 2+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on big data technologies 2+ years of experience working with Hadoop, Spark, and related technologies Proven experience with data warehousing concepts and data engineering Experience with programming languages, such as Java, Python, or Scala Strong understanding of distributed systems and cloud computing Experience with UNIX shell scripting and data processing Ability to design and develop advanced data pipelines for batch and real-time data processing Preferred Qualifications In addition to the essential qualifications, we are looking for candidates who have experience with cloud platforms, such as GCP or AWS, and who have a strong understanding of microservices architecture and agile development methodologies.
