About the Role We are seeking an experienced Senior Developer to join our Global Advertising and Brand Management (GABM) organization, specifically within our OnBrand Production team. As a Senior Developer, you will play a critical role in creating seamless customer experiences for our Business Units, driving results and unlocking value through industry-defining creative excellence. You will be responsible for executing development for multiple parallel project engagements, writing high-quality code for digital platforms, and partnering with cross-functional teams to develop innovative digital experiences. Key Responsibilities Execute development for a range of multiple parallel project engagements, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery Write high-quality code for digital platforms using HTML, CSS, and Javascript, adhering to industry standards and best practices Produce, maintain, and modify digital experiences and user interfaces, ensuring accessibility, responsiveness, performance, and ease of use Partner with UX/UI, copy, and design teams to develop the overall look and design of digital experiences, providing expert feedback and guidance Develop an overall development approach and guide other developers through execution to delivery, ensuring consistency and quality Provide proactive coaching, feedback, and oversight for developers on project-based work, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement Ensure all digital experiences align to industry standards and best practices, staying up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies Partner with QA team to troubleshoot and resolve defects, identify patterns, and use learnings to optimize overall development processes Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a strong and diverse skillset in relevant areas, including: Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and Javascript, with experience in developing digital platforms and user interfaces Strong understanding of industry standards and best practices in web development, including accessibility, responsiveness, and performance Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience in partnering with cross-functional teams Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Experience in working with agile methodologies and version control systems such as Git Knowledge of front-end build tools such as Webpack and Gulp Familiarity with back-end technologies such as Node.js and Ruby on Rails Experience in working with design systems and style guides Certifications in web development, such as AWS Certified Developer or Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Developer Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Technical skills : Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and Javascript, with experience in developing digital platforms and user interfaces Problem-solving skills : Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, with excellent analytical and critical thinking skills Communication skills : Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience in partnering with cross-functional teams Adaptability : Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines Continuous learning : Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, staying up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At American Express, we are committed to helping our employees grow and develop in their careers.
