About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Seasonal Customer Service Representative to join our team on a part-time basis. As a seasonal representative, you will play a vital role in receiving, investigating, and responding to member inquiries, resolving problems and complaints in a timely and accurate manner. Key Responsibilities Answer and track telephone calls within established department standards, ensuring that all member inquiries are addressed promptly and professionally. Utilize our IKA database to track and document member calls, maintaining concise and factual records. Develop a comprehensive understanding of our lines of business benefits, medical management processes, demographic change processes, and procedures for changing Primary Care Physicians (PCP). Respond to "entry-level" claims inquiries, providing accurate and helpful information to our members. Process "Over the Counter" (OTC) orders for products and diabetic supplies, ensuring that our members receive the support they need. Understand and execute "entry-level" enrollment and disenrollment procedures, maintaining accurate records and ensuring seamless transitions for our members. Enter prospective members into our software database, ensuring that all information is accurate and up-to-date. Maintain current source documents and reference materials, staying informed about our services and policies. Interact professionally with colleagues, customers, and suppliers, fostering positive relationships and resolving issues in a timely and effective manner. Work collaboratively as a team contributor, communicating and coordinating with other employees and organizations to achieve our goals. Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Minimum of six months to one year of related experience in customer service or a similar field. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including good grammar, voice, and diction. Strong typing skills (40-60WPM) and proficiency in MS Office, including basic computer and keyboarding skills. Ability to read and interpret documents, calculate figures and amounts, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Self-driven with a positive outlook, demonstrating confidence, tact, patience, and diplomacy when interacting with customers. Ability to follow directions, complete tasks accurately, and accept supervisory input and constructive criticism. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following skills and qualifications are highly desirable: Previous experience in the healthcare industry or a related field. Familiarity with customer service software and technology, including our IKA database. Bi-lingual or multi-lingual skills, allowing you to communicate effectively with a diverse range of members.
