Key Responsibilities As a Retail Customer Service Associate at blithequark, your key responsibilities will include: Providing exceptional customer service, utilizing consultative skills to understand each customer's individualized needs Assisting customers with printing, signs and graphics, and shipping product lines, and recommending appropriate blithequark products and services Taking complex customer orders using order systems and providing accurate pricing information Assembling parcels and preparing goods for shipping, including wrapping items in insulation, inserting items into shipping containers, weighing packages, and affixing labels to parcels Setting up and operating printing, binding, and other related equipment using customer-supplied original media and documents Maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly retail store environment Processing financial transactions using a Point of Sale terminal (POS), including handling cash and making change Cleaning, repairing, and stocking all retail store printing and shipping equipment and supplies to provide optimal performance and availability Staying current on retail store merchandising materials and ensuring proper display of all retail area product and signage Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A high school diploma or equivalent education 6+ months of specialized experience in a customer-facing role Excellent verbal and written communication skills The ability to stand during entire shift, excluding meal and rest periods The ability to move and lift 55 pounds The ability, on a consistent basis, to bend/twist at the waist and knees The ability, on a consistent basis, to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and other team members The ability, on a consistent basis, to perform work activities requiring cooperation and instruction The ability, on a consistent basis, to function in a fast-paced environment, under substantial pressure Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Previous experience in a retail environment Knowledge of printing, signs and graphics, and shipping product lines Experience with Point of Sale terminals (POS) and financial transactions Ability to work with minimal supervision Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Strong customer service skills, with the ability to anticipate and meet customer needs Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, vendors, and other team members Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities Basic math skills, with the ability to accurately process financial transactions Ability to lift and move equipment and supplies, as needed Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we are committed to the growth and development of our team members.
